Back-nine horrors hurt Scott
FOUR, back-nine bogeys, including a trip to the water at the last, have spoiled Adam Scott’s hopes of taking the lead on day two of the Shell Houston Open today (AEST).
Scott, the highest world-ranked player in the field, eventually settled for a second-round 71, and a share of 10th place, but just two strokes behind the leading six players, including fellow Aussie and defending champion Stuart Appleby.
Appleby shares the lead at six-under-par with Americans Bob Estes, Abubba Watson, Jeff Maggert, Jason Gore and D.J. Brigman.
Fellow Aussies John Senden, Gavin Coles, Matthew Goggin and Steve Allan have also made thae cut.
