Rose pulls out of Memorial event
Rose is taking a break after Werntworth But the 26-year-old Englishman insists he has not suffered a recurrence of the back trouble which has limited him to just two tournaments since February.Rose, the runner-up at the PGA Championship at Wentworth on Sunday, said: “I’m just being cautious.”I’m taking advice from my trainer and just trying to get myself stronger.”Rose did not play during the whole of March, but returned for the Masters at Augusta and was one off the lead until he double-bogeyed the penultimate hole. 
Justin Rose He had planned to appear at Hilton Head the following week, but withdrew from that and the Players Championship.But in his first appearance in England for three years, Rose lost a dramatic sudden-death play-off against Dane Anders Hansen at the PGA, the European Tour’s flagship event at Wentworth.Now he hopes another week off before Oakmont will help him return fresh for a crack at the second major of the season.He said: “I’m still comfortable with my game. It doesn’t take me long to fire up the engines again and it’s certainly been a benefit being fresh.”But I have to give it some time fitness-wise in the gym to cope with a full playing schedule. I’m going to dedicate the next couple of weeks to really getting myself 100%.”
